The past few years have seen a dramatic change in the public perception of cosmetic surgery in Britain, leading to a sixty five per cent increase in demand in 2004 alone. In fact, so popular has cosmetic surgery become that it is hard to turn on the television or open a magazine without encountering stories of lives transformed as a result of work being done. Vastly improved treatments and increased social acceptance has lead to cosmetic surgery becoming a normalised practice, as viable and realistic to the housewife as it is to the Hollywood star. None of which is surprising, considering the very real and immediate benefits cosmetic surgery can bring to the patient’s appearance and self-esteem.
However, cosmetic surgery can still be beyond the budget of many, which is why there is a growing trend for people to travel to parts of the world where the standard of expertise and post-operation care is just as good as in the United Kingdom, but up to sixty percent cheaper. Such savings are made due to favorable exchange rates This is particularly significant when you consider that medical health insurance doesn’t cover the cost of elective cosmetic surgery. So now patients are choosing to enjoy holidays to exotic destinations such as Malaysia and Thailand in addition to improving their appearance.
No country is more suited to this combination than Brazil, land of sun and sea and the body beautiful, and second only to the United States in terms of the number of surgical operations performed every year. The 3500 plus members of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery are renowned for their experience and expertise, which makes sense when you consider that 80% of all plastic surgery in the United Kingdom is reconstructive, whereas 80% of all plastic surgery in Brazil is cosmetic, and that cosmetic surgery magazines clutter up the shelves in newsagents the same way that computer and golf magazines do here. The level of service in the Brazilian private health sector is extremely high, to mention all of those wonderful beaches you can strut your stuff down after you’ve made a full recovery!
Of course, another benefit of having cosmetic surgery abroad is that it guarantees total privacy, so that you won’t need to worry about friends, neighbours and work colleagues seeing you in the immediate aftermath of the operation. You can recover in a relaxed environment, choose who you want to see and have all manner of complementary therapies and additional work done while you’re at it. In order to make the most of your stay in the country and feel confident you’ve hired a surgeon with the sufficient level of expertise to carry out the work, it is advisable to engage the services of a cosmetic surgery company who regularly deals with sending clients from the United Kingdom to Brazil, or your country of choice. This will also insure that you are given the appropriate level of follow-up care, including careful monitoring in the days immediately following surgery. Not only will this give you piece of mind, but it will save you money as the company uses contacts that have been built up in the country over a number of years.
Regardless of this, it is worth understanding that all types of surgery carry a degree of risk and that surgical results differ from person to person and depend on many factors, including the patient’s age, medical history and health, and that results may be slightly different from those that you were expecting. As such, it is a good indication of the responsibility and professionalism of the surgeon that such things are discussed in detail before any operation takes place and you are aware of any complications or side effects that may occur, no matter how rare. Also, that the surgeon is available to discuss and treat side effects or complications as and when they arise. If such things are not immediately offered it is advisable to consider this a warning sign and start looking for a different surgeon. After all, you can take as long as you want selecting a surgeon you feel comfortable with, but you will be living with the results for the rest of your life.

Homemade Beauty Recipes for your Skin
Herbal remedies are very popular. Beauty Recipes are easily prepared at home provides best alternative to costly makeup products. Sensitive skin can be easily irritated. Typical reactions to sensitive skin includes itching, burning, chafing and stinging. It feels very dry after a wash and occasionally break out in spots or pimples. Do not use makeup atleast once a week so as to let your skin breathe fresh air. Skin that feels great when you take off for work in the morning but feels greasy by lunch; these are all too familiar scenarios for those of us with oily skin. Oily skin type has over reactive sebaceous glands that make the face shiny, particularly down the central panel-your nose, forehead and chin, also known as the T-zone. For normal skin, toning, daily cleansing and nourishing should be done. For this use a mild or balanced soap. Soft water should be used to wash the face daily.
Following are the variety of homemade beauty recipes:
1. Use witch hazel as an astringent instead of pricey products. It also cleans makeup from skin without drying it.
2. Make a mixture of crushed fennel seeds [for oily skin] and apricot kernel oil [for dry skin] to cleanse your skin.
3. Cucumber juice patted on face and left to dry will deminish the appearance of wrinkles.
4. To avoid black color of your lips and get soft and rosy lips you should apply lemon juice or coriander leaf juice on your lips.
5. To prevent sunburns on your skin you can apply grated cucumber juices, mix it with glycerin and rose water.
6. Tomato pulp tightens skins and is a great remedy for blackheads.
How to make homemade facial Scrub Masks
1. Make a perfect facial scrub from grapes. Mash a handful of grapes. Strain them to separate the pulp from the juice. Remove the skins and mash the pulp and juice with 1 tablespoon of almond flour.
2. Make a facial mask with honey and bananas Make sure the bananas are not overripe. Mash 1 banana with 3 tbs. honey.
For a skin softening bath, add 1/4 cup honey to the water.
3. Apples and pears are mild astringents. Make a quick mask by grating a large apple or pear and mixing it with 1 tbs. of honey.
4. Use aloe vera gel as an astringent for oily skin. Aloe vera gel is also great for thickening hair. Massage it into your scalp then leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing. Mix it with glitter for sparkly, softening body gel.
5. Add a tsp. of baking soda to your shampoo. It helps remove hair-product buildup! Baking soda can also loosen blackheads. Combine equal parts soda and water and rub the mixture into your skin, let sit until dry, then rinse.
6. Mix 1 tbs. sugar with a few drops of olive oil for a sweet facial exfoliant. This can be mixed in larger quantities for full body exfoliation.

Dry Skin Care for the Nose Rubbed Raw
No matter what they add to tissues – aloe vera, vitamin E, eucalyptus – they still have not managed to find an ingredient that prevents the raw nose that inevitably results from the constant blowing during winter colds. Using a shielding lotion for dry skin care treatment will help prevent and treat the red, chapped skin phenomenon, but there are also things you can do to reduce the duration of the cold and thereby minimize unsightly skin damage.
· Take lots of Vitamin C. Many health care practitioners recommend taking about 2 grams every hour. In addition to boosting the immune system, Vitamin C reduces mucous considerably. You may stop blowing your nose for hours. As it also increases circulation and fights free radicals, Vitamin C is a must for dry skin care treatment and prevention in any season.
· Rinse with salt water to clear the nasal passages. Dissolve ¼ teaspoon of salt into a glass of warm water. Hold one nostril closed and, with a bulb syringe, squirt the warm salt water into the other nostril two or three times letting it drain in between each squirt. Then squirt the other nostril. This helps clear the passages and also fights against bacteria. Gargling with salt water can also help relieve congestion in both the nose and throat.
· Drink lots of hot liquids. Half a lemon, a teaspoon of raw honey and about ¼ teaspoon of cayenne in hot water is a great mixture for relieving congestion, boosting the immune system, increasing circulation and keeping you hydrated. In fact, this healthy drink is good for dry skin care and prevention overall.
· Take a steam bath. It’s a great cure-all – clears the sinuses and any other congestion, and cleans you right out. You can take a hot, steamy shower, use a facial steamer or lean over the sink with the hot water running and a towel over your head. This is another great dry skin care treatment any time.
· While you’re trying to get things under control, don’t forget to keep applying a little shielding lotion. Colds can be terribly dehydrating and that rough, dry skin is easily infected. A good shielding lotion locks in the natural moisture and protects the damaged skin from being invaded by bacteria.
They are, no doubt, still trying to develop a tissue that does not rub you raw and I’m sure the lines will be long when they finally come up with something. However, until that time, using the above methods to relieve congestion and a shielding lotion for dry skin care should shorten the duration of the cold and minimize the damage.

Eczema Treatment Advances with New Desensitization Methods
Although 80 percent of eczema is a reaction to chemicals that would irritate anyone, the remaining 20 percent is caused by a specific sensitivity to something which may not be a problem for others - an allergic reaction. The reaction could be to something either in the diet or the individual's environment. Thousands of doctors now recommend shielding lotion as topical eczema treatment, but for those who do suffer from allergies, new desensitization techniques may also be beneficial.
The most common allergy diagnosis and treatment for eczema involves testing for sensitivities by subcutaneous injection of a small amount of potential offending substances, watching for a reaction, then avoidance of or desensitization to the substances found to cause a reaction.
Desensitization, also known as hyposensitization, has traditionally been accomplished by injecting increasingly larger amounts of the allergen in the hopes that the person will build up a tolerance. It takes up to six months to have any positive response at all and treatment can continue for three to five years. It is expensive and unreliable, and is done only as a last resort in severe situations. Those undergoing desensitization for eczema treatment can spend a lot of time and money for little or no results.
However, there are new desensitization methods now available that make this a viable option. Nambudripads Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) is one of the most common, although not necessary the fastest. Most involve a form of muscle testing - the practitioner exposes you to the substance without injections and, gauging by changes in muscle strength during exposure, determines whether there is a reaction. Several substances can be tested this way in just a few minutes.
Desensitization techniques vary, but don't involve needles and sometimes don't take any longer than the diagnosis. These methods are light years ahead of traditional desensitization and, for those who suffer from allergies, can't be beat. It completely eliminates years of expensive trial and error.
The jury is still out on the effectiveness of these methods as eczema treatment. They seem to work much better for some than others, but anecdotal evidence indicates that they are at least as effective as traditional desensitization, and possibly more.
As topical eczema treatment, regardless of the cause of the problem, a shielding lotion is the most advanced technology available. A good shielding lotion bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a protective layer that keeps out the chemicals. Again, this is light years ahead of steroid drugs and irritating chemical treatments and, for those without allergies, it may be all the eczema treatment needed. However, if you suffer from allergies, you may want to find a natural health care practitioner to also discuss desensitization.

Psoriasis Treatment Using Natural Remedies
If you have Psoriasis or any other skin problem, I know you are always looking for a solution. With psoriasis, the skin breaks out in itchy rashes, unsightly blemishes, and white flakes.
In psoriasis, the skin cells multiply quickly causing rashes to appear quickly. Normal skin renews itself in 30 days, but in psoriasis, skin cells move from the innermost layer of skin to the skin surface in 3 days, causing red and itchy areas. In addition, as cells accumulate on the surface they die, turning white and flaky.
Finding a psoriasis treatment that cures is not easy since there doesn’t appear to be one. Most doctors or dermatologists do not know what causes psoriasis and consider it incurable. But there are many different natural remedies that can give some relief to psoriasis but at far as a natural psoriasis treatment that is a cure, there is none.
Here is a list of psoriasis treatments that you may want to try.
Give your skin some sun to give your body additional energy and Vitamin D to fight your psoriasis. You can add Vitamin D supplements to the list of vitamins you take. The psoriasis sun treatment works better with UVB rays but these rays also cause sunburn. So you may want to put sunscreen on those areas that do not have psoriasis.
Drink teas or take capsules of sarsaparilla, milk thistle or nettle leaves.
Take a regular dose of fish oil or flax seed. Start with 1500 mg per day of fish oil
Use a couple tablespoons of granular lecithin. You can add it to your soups, salads, morning cereal, or smoothes. Never add it to boiling water or use it as cooking oil since it oxidizes rapidly and becomes rancid.
Take large dose of inositol, a B vitamin, around 1.5 grams or more and see how it affects your psoriasis.
Use a diluted apple cider vinegar over your psoriasis to reduce itching. Start with 10 parts apple cider vinegar to 90 part of distilled water. No known pathogen can survive in apple cider vinegar.
Keep stress down if possible, stress lowers the immune system and a weak immune system cannot keep up with the activity of psoriasis.
There is another herb that appears to be an excellent psoriasis treatment. It’s called mahonia quifolium and is better known as Oregon grape or holly-leaved barberry, which is a natural plant extract
This extract is a,
A strong antibacterial
A strong antifungal
Inhibits the excessive abnormal skin cell growth
Reduces inflammation
Activates the release of histamine
You can find mahonia aquifolium in a product called M-Folia. This product comes in various forms – ointments, shampoos, sunscreen, and cream preparations
Keep your psoriasis area open to air and don’t allow jewelry or tight clothing to press against it. Stay of away from harsh chemicals sprays and liquid irritants.
Keep stress down if possible, stress lowers the immune system and a weak immune system cannot keep up with the activity of psoriasis.
Use a psoriasis treatment as mentioned above to help give you psoriasis relief. You can use a combination of these remedies, so experiment to see which works the best for you.

Dry Skin Treatment in Ayurvedic Medicine
Ayurvedic medicine is the traditional medicine of India. Treatment consists largely of herbs, fruits and spices, but much of it also revolves around self-care - living a lifestyle designed to prevent illness. Although India is quickly changing, daily life in India does not revolve around chemicals as does much of the West. They are therefore not as susceptible to dry skin caused by contact with harmful chemicals. In the Western world, thousands of doctors are now recommending a shielding lotion as dry skin treatment, but Ayurvedic medicine also offers some good advice.
In Ayurveda, defined as “the science of life,” health is defined as an active state of wellness. In other words, you are not merely disease free, you are able to live life to the fullest. Ayurveda approaches wellness by adjustments in diet, daily routine and environment as required for your age, stress level, and lifestyle.
Basic to Ayurveda is the theory of the Five Elements – spirit, air, earth, wind and fire. It is believed that everything in the material universe is a combination of these elements. The ratios differ in each of us, and determine our spiritual, mental and physical constitution. Skin that is dry and tight is ‘air predominant’, and dry skin treatment consist of diet, skin protection, and a lifestyle appropriate to an ‘air’ skin type.
Here are a few key things that would be recommended:
Cook with clarified butter or olive oil.
The most beneficial foods are rice, oatmeal and buckwheat, mung dai lentils, asparagus and zucchini, stewed apples and pears (for breakfast), seasonal fresh fruits, soaked walnuts, and soaked and blanched almonds.
The recommended spices for dry skin treatment are turmeric, cumin, coriander and fennel in a ratio of 2/3/6/6. This spice mixture is sautéed in clarified butter and added to food after or during cooking.
The lifestyle suggested includes going to bed early, walking for 20 minutes in the morning, taking regular short breaks while working, and deep breathing.
Protecting the skin from harsh chemicals and retaining moisture are the two most prevalent recommendations for air predominant skin. Drinking lots of spring water with a pH balance of 7.5 to stay hydrated and staying away from chemical-laden skin care products are at the top of the list. Ayurvedic healing also recommends wearing a protective coating such as a moisturizer on your face and hands, and lip balm to protect your lips.
While moisturizers do coat the skin, they are not an effective dry skin treatment because they usually contain drying chemicals and greasy substances that prevent the skin from breathing. A good shielding lotion is the best alternative. It bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a protective barrier that allows the skin to breath, protects it from harsh weather and environmental chemicals, and locks in the skin’s natural moisture. It is the best dry skin treatment available, and fits very nicely into the treatment recommended by Ayurvedic healers.

Are Alpha Hydroxy Acids Safe for Dry Skin?
Alpha hydroxy acids have become standard treatment for a variety of skin problems – including dry skin. Lotions containing low concentrations of the acids are available over the counter, and in higher concentrations from your doctor. The acids are also used for skin peels, administered by a professional. Using a good shielding lotion as a moisturizer prevents and treats dry skin on a daily basis, but, used correctly, alpha hydroxy acids may also be beneficial.
The most common alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) are lactic acid, a derivative of sour milk, citric acid, from oranges and other citrus fruits, and glycolic acid, a derivative of sugar cane. Although they have been used for centuries – Cleopatra used to bath in sour milk – they have now been refined, and are included in many cosmetic and beauty products.
How do they help dry skin? Their primary function is exfoliation. Dry skin is often caused by an excessive build-up of dead skin cells on the surface. Alpha hydroxy acids weaken the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, loosening their hold on the surface and leaving the skin fresher, smoother, and younger looking. They also stimulate production of collagen, giving the skin more support and increasing the thickness.
Many studies have shown that using a product with an alpha-hydroxy acid concentration of at least 8 to 10 percent is effective in restoring elasticity, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, lightening areas that have become dark as we age, and reducing dry skin.
How do you choose the right product? Remember that these are powerful acids. They seep into the skin, and can do so too deeply. When first applied, they will sting for 20 or 30 seconds, but if the sting lasts longer, the product you’ve chosen is too strong. They can also increase sun-sensitivity so you should definitely use sunscreen. It’s best to start with a product of low concentration to ensure you don’t damage the skin, and choose a product with other natural ingredients so you don’t exacerbate the situation by using chemicals that cause dry skin. Applying two to three times a week should suffice.
Although alpha hydroxy acids may be helpful, they do expose the skin to the elements and make it more sensitive, so it’s important to also use a shielding lotion. A good shielding lotion bonds with the outer layer of the skin to form a barrier that protects against harsh environmental pollutants, and locks in the natural moisture. It’s your first defense against dry skin. Using the AHA lotion a few times a week, and the shielding lotion daily, you could start looking younger in just a few days!

Give Your Natural Skin Care a Boost with Vegetable Juices
Healthy skin, and good health in general, requires a diet high in fresh vegetables, but nutritionists say we would need to consume 15 pounds of raw vegetables and fruits every day to fully nourish our bodies. Many health-conscious people solve this problem by juicing. It’s a convenient way to get the daily nutrients you need, and is a valuable addition to your basic natural skin care routine.
Juices with high silicon content are generally the most beneficial for the skin. These include broccoli, cabbage, kale, spinach, turnip greens – greens of any sort – and watercress, to name a few. While any of these juices are good for you, there are certain combinations that address specific conditions.
Acne sufferers do best with a combination of carrots, green pepper and parsley. Adding a little apple and potato (just a slice or two) is also beneficial. A combination of carrots, spinach, turnip leaves and watercress, which is high in chlorine and sulfur, is good for those with eczema. Again, adding a little potato helps.
Haggard-looking skin is revived with carrots, bell pepper, kale, spinach, and turnip greens, and rough, aging skin responds well to apricot juice. Try combining it with apple and a little gingerroot. Carrots and sweet potato also work well.
If you would like to simply slow down the effects of aging, drink a wide variety of juices every day, and include plenty of celery juice, watermelon juice and carrot juice with parsley.
Some aficionados practically live on juices, but even it (if) you’re not willing to go that far, it’s a good idea to have vegetable juices with your meals to help digestion.
A word of caution about combining vegetables and fruits – vegetables are high in natural oils, and fruits tend to be acidic. As a rule, they don’t mix well and can cause bloating and discomfort. Two exceptions are apples and carrots. Apples can be used to sweeten vegetables juices, and the natural sweetness of carrots goes well with fruit.
If you’re just starting juicing, take it slowly at first. Start with about three glasses a day, two vegetable and one fruit, and work up to six glasses keeping the same vegetable/fruit ratio. The best juicers operate at a low temperature to avoid destroying the nutrients.
If you have severe skin problems, you should consult a dermatologist to determine the best treatment, but, otherwise, adding vegetable juices to your diet could have such dramatic results that within a couple of weeks you’ll look like you spend most of your day at the spa.

Is Dry Skin Causing Your Shaving Rash?
Many people, both men and women, develop a rash from shaving. The rashes usually consist of red bumps, sometimes involve ingrown hairs, and can even scar. Some shaving rashes disappear within an hour or so, and others seem perpetual. The effort to get a close shave is often the culprit, and is especially a problem for those with dry skin as the extra-thick layer of dead skin cells prevents close contact with the skin surface. One of the best solutions is a good shielding lotion to alleviate dry skin and give you a smoother shave, but here are few other tips that may also help.
1. Don’t stretch the skin. Shaving is supposed to remove the hair that is already above the surface. When you stretch the skin to get a closer shave, the hair pops out of the follicle - the part of the skin that grows hair - and then pops back in below the surface of the skin when you relax the face. The sharp tip of the freshly cut hair then curls into the skin beside the follicle as it grows, causing an ingrown hair and razor bumps.
2. Use a single blade razor. The effect of a double or triple-blade razor is similar to stretching the skin. The blades tend to pull the hair further out from the follicle and you wind up cutting the hair below the surface of the skin. When the hair retracts into the follicle, it is below the surface.
3. Lubricate the skin prior to shaving, but don’t use a chemical compound that will cause or exacerbate dry skin. Try a shielding lotion instead.
4. If you’re using disposable razors, don’t use them more than once. Dull blades don’t cut well so you tend to push down harder, pulling at the hair and irritating the skin. Other types of blades usually remain sharp through about five shaves.
5. Shave in the same direction as the hair is growing. If it grows up, shave up. Shaving in a different direction pulls the hair.
6. Don’t shave skin that already has razor bumps or ingrown hairs. Let the bumps heal, and try to remedy the ingrown hairs by pulling the tips out with tweezers so the hairs come out straight. Letting the hair grow for a while will also help ingrown hairs to grow out
Shaving rashes are not only unsightly, they can also get itchy and infected. For a comfortable shave that leaves your skin smooth and clean, follow the tips above. And don’t forget to use the shielding lotion every day to alleviate the dry skin!

Mud – The Latest Treatment for Eczema and Psoriasis
Cleopatra, probably the most famous ancient beauty, had a dirty little secret – mud. Not just any mud, but mud from the Dead Sea. She was so taken with it she had Mark Antony conquer the area for her, and then she opened up cosmetic factories along the shore - not just another pretty face. Spas all over the world now offer ‘Cleopatra bathing’ - mud baths and wraps and cleansing with Dead Sea salts, but what is not well known is how effective this mud is for eczema and psoriasis treatment treatment.
For everyday use, a good shielding lotion protects eczema and psoriasis sufferers from exposure to environmental pollutants and helps the body retain moisture, but once a week or so, give yourself the full treatment with a Dead Sea mud bath, wrap, or poultice application.
What does Dead Sea mud have to offer? The Dead Sea contains 26 different essential minerals - more than any other body of water in the world - and some, including chlorine, magnesium, sodium, calcium, potassium and bromine are in concentrations ranging from 4 to 80 times that of regular ocean water.
The chlorine and sodium, unhealthy when used by themselves, form salt – an essential mineral which plays a vital role in hydration by balancing the water in and around the cells and tissues, and is a natural antibiotic/antifungal. In combination with calcium, magnesium and potassium, salt helps to regulate metabolism, balance pH, and enhance muscle function. Potassium also soothes the nerves. Together, these minerals thoroughly cleanse your skin, rid the pores of any environmental particles and toxins, bacteria and fungi, help balance the pH, tighten the skin, and restore its natural moisture levels. It all adds up to healthy, glowing skin.
For eczema and psoriasis sufferers, the results can be miraculous. Mud wraps, masks and baths in the Dead Sea water are soothing and relaxing, relieve the itch, and can actually heal the lesions and rashes.
There are many Dead Sea mud and salt products on the market. Find the most natural products – avoid those with chemicals that will further irritate the eczema and psoriasis – and see what they can do. And don’t forget to apply the shielding lotion in between your personal mud spas!

Dry Skin Becomes Moist and Supple with Coconuts
If you’ve been reading health magazines, or even some of the mainstream women’s magazines, you have probably heard about the health benefits of coconut oil. One of the most dramatic changes it can make is in your skin. For protection against harsh chemicals and environmental toxins, it’s important to use a shielding lotion externally, but including coconut oil in your diet may be the internal help you need to make your dry skin moist and supple.
Nearly one third of the world's population depends on coconut to some degree for their food. In the Philippines, for example, coconut has been a dietary staple for hundreds of years. The meat of the coconut is used in many different foods, and the oil is used in salads and cooking. Even though Filipinos live in a climate that exposes them to the sun year-round, their youthful, soft and wrinkle-free skin is attributed to coconuts.
The health benefits of coconut oil are numerous.
• Unlike the polyunsaturated fats used in the North American diet in oils for salad dressing and cooking, coconut oil is an antioxidant and does not cause free radical damage.
• It improves digestion and absorption of other nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
• It has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that help prevent many diseases, including those of the skin.
• It softens the skin, relieves dryness and flaking, and prevents sagging, wrinkles and age spots.
• It helps prevent thyroid dysfunction, which often manifests in dry skin.
• It reduces the symptoms associated with psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis.
It has also been used to treat cardiovascular health, improve energy and metabolism, and is excellent for weight loss.
The combination of dietary coconut oil to provide the nutrients and moisture you need internally and a good shielding lotion to protect against dry skin used by outside irritants is the perfect combination for dry skin care.

Want to Look Good in Sandals? Include Your Feet in Your Dry Skin Care Routine
Summer solstice is close upon us and, although some of us may have started early, it marks the beginning of the beach season. It’s also time to expose our feet! Over the winter they can certainly tend to get dry and cracked, and now we want them to look nice and pretty so we can show them off. Or, at the very least, not be embarrassed. How do you accomplish that? Once you’ve got them looking good, a shielding lotion will help keep them that way, but the first step is to apply some of the basic principles of dry skin care for the feet, and to get your nails in shape.
Here’s a routine that will help make your feet worthy of display.
1. Remove any nail polish, and clean your nails.
2. Cut them straight across, and smooth any rough edges with a nail file – file in one direction, towards the middle from each side.
3. Soak your feet in a pan of warm water for 5 or 10 minutes to soften the skin.
4. Rub them with course sea salt, a great exfoliator and a must in your dry skin care routine. Use a pumice stone if your feet are callused. The sea salt will also help smooth out the calves.
5. Give them a good massage. A combination of peppermint and coconut oils makes a good natural lotion. Rub it well into your feet and calves to improve circulation.
6. Rinse off any excess oils with warm water.
7. Dry thoroughly with a fresh towel.
8. Apply a shielding lotion to keep the moisture locked in, and protect your feet from harmful bacteria in the environment.
Once you’re on the beach, the sand will help exfoliate and, in fact, sand can be substituted for the sea salt in step four above.
Like any good dry skin care routine, this special one for the feet not only makes them look good, you’ll feel like you just came home from a relaxing day at the spa.
Slip on your sandals, and enjoy!

Are Mineral Oil Products Safe and Effective for Dry Skin Treatment?
Although mineral oil is used liberally in many body-care products, it has been surrounded by controversy for decades. Some reputable sources say it is extremely dangerous and should never be used on the body, while others say it is safe, natural, healthy, and should be used
liberally.
How are you supposed to know whether it’s good for you or not? Understanding how your skin function and structure dictates the best dry skin treatment, and gaining an understanding what mineral oil is and does, will give you the answer.
Mineral oil is a by-product of the distillation process that turns petroleum into gasoline. It has many industrial uses, including as a cutting fluid, a lubricating oil, a coolant, a preservative on utensils and wood cutting boards, a sealer for soapstone countertops, and as a cleaner and solvent for inks in fine art printmaking – to name a few.
One of the reasons it has become popular as a skin care product is that it forms a film over the skin that prevents the skin from contacting or absorbing anything in the environment. For example, it’s best to keep a rash dry, and mineral oil helps prevent the absorption of water.
Another popular use is in bath oils. In this case, it supposedly keeps moisture locked in, and makes the skin feel smooth. Since dry skin generally feels rough and flaky, the assumption is that if the skin feels smooth, then it is moist.
The hole in these theories is that mineral oil doesn’t allow the skin to ‘breathe’. While it may keep moisture in, it also prevents the body from absorbing oxygen and from eliminating toxins and other waste products – both of which are such vital bodily processes that their malfunction could create dry skin, and many other unhealthy conditions.
So, the skin problem is not being treated, it’s being masked, and possibly even worsened. This will quickly be obvious once you stop using the products, and find that the skin problems immediately reappear.
The solution is to use a product that locks in moisture and forms a protective barrier against environmental toxins, without leaving a greasy or oily film that prevents the body from absorbing oxygen and eliminating wastes – which is how a shielding lotion works. For that reason, thousands of doctors are now recommending a good instead of mineral oil products to help rashes and other dry skin conditions.

Scientists Say New Wine May be Effective Eczema Treatment
Germans scientists have turned their talents to the world of gastronomy and produced seaweed wine - which, in addition to its epicurean delight, will apparently help improve eczema. While we can't vouch for its success at your next dinner party, we can appreciate its benefits to the skin - although a shielding lotion may be a more appropriate external eczema treatment.
What does seaweed have to offer? It has long been considered a 'super food' - fat-free, low calorie, and full of vital minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, iodine and sodium. In fact, some seaweed contains those minerals in the same ratios and concentrations found in human blood.
In addition to nourishing the body, one of the most important health benefits of seaweed is its ability to remove radioactive strontium and other heavy metals from the body. Whole brown seaweed, such as is used in seaweed wine, contains alginic acid which binds with the toxins in the intestines and carries them out of the system - preventing them from being eliminated through the skin, as is the case with eczema flare-ups.
If you don't fancy the wine, you might try adding seaweed to your diet in other forms. It can be found in most health food stores, or those that sell ingredients for Japanese food. You can add strips of it to soup, use it to make a soup broth, or eat it dried as a snack. The red algae seaweed, such as nori, agar-agar, and Irish moss are also very good for you. Nori is the seaweed used to wrap sushi, but Gaelic people also mix it with flour to make bread. Agar-agar is a gel used as a base in many Japanese desserts, and dried Irish moss is most often used in relishes, breads, soups and fritters.
In addition to shoring up your diet with seaweed and other healthy foods, the skin also requires protection from harsh chemicals and other external toxins if you want to avoid eczema flare-ups. Hundreds of dermatologists are now recommending a good shielding lotion as an effective external eczema treatment, although, who knows, if seaweed wine gets really popular we may soon be shopping for our body care products at the local vineyard.

Bath and Body Fragrances
Bath and Body Skincare is simply sublime or exotic, and is inspired by nature. These fragrances are crafted by perfumes and a variety of cologne sprays. The fragrance you discover after its use is as unique as you are. Each of these perfumes, shower gels, candles, brushes and colognes are inspired by flowers, herbs, and botanical extracts. They are created with a correct blend of natural substances for the skin, without any chemicals.
Bath and Body Fragrances require many things for consideration such as select the correct perfume as per your choice. You must know the proper way of applying it as well. Your scent should not reach people who are more than an arm's length away. If the smell is beyond that it means you are using in an incorrect way or you have a disturbed body chemistry.
Combine glycerin with scent & color. Pour sea salt in a jar and add the glycerin mixture. Turn jar to mix. Fill containers--decorative or apothecary jars and scoop out with a seashell.
Melt cut-up chunks of glycerin and/or castile soap in a double boiler or in a microwave at 50% power, with water or herbal infusion--honey can be used as part of the liquid. If using botanicals, stir them in slowly, when soap has melted, in one direction (to avoid air bubbles) with a non-metallic spoon. Let cool slightly--but still pourable--add scent and optional color chip and stir slowly as above. Pour into molds or a box lined with Saran Wrap.
Fragrances can often reflect our mood and personality. How often does a certain smell remind you of grandma's house, a favorite place in the past, or that first romantic encounter in high school?
We suggest changing your fragrance depending upon the season. In other words, go for lighter scents during the hotter weather and keep the stronger scents for the drier, cool weather. Heat intensifies the scent, so there is no need to douse yourself in a heavy scent during the summer. And if you are outdoors, be aware that bees, wasps, hornets, and other flying bugs are attracted to flowery fragrances (which is another good reason to stick to light, clean scents!)
When testing a new fragrance, allow the fragrance to “settle” on your skin for about 10 minutes. You will experience the different levels of “notes” as the scent mingles with your body chemistry. You should not test more than 3 fragrances at one time. Your nose will not be able to pick up the complexities of the fragrance notes.
Rosehip Jasmine Based on the wonderful Garden Botanika blend, this fragrance is a beautiful blend of the light-heartened Rosehip and the sultry scent of Jasmine. The scent of Rosehip is a sweeter, more "pink" smell than straight rose. When blended with Jasmine, it creates a perfect floral balance
Bonsai fragrance is a Floral Fresh with Citrus and Pine accords, having some Tropical Fruits and Wood tones on background. This is an excellent zen like fragrance. Use this fragrance whenever you're feeling particularly stressed and just need a relaxing respite in your day.

Importance of Quality Healthcare
By Shawn Drewry
In today's society, Healthcare is an issue of major concern to people. Children, the working class, fitness buffs, the elderly and even the wealthy need medical doctors on hand. As human bodies age, ailments ,such as joint pain cancer, headaches, heart conditions, stroke an more medically related issues may potentially take place within human bodies. Aging is apart of normal life.
When children are born into the world, they need to be immunized because their newborn tender bodies are vulnerable to undetectable viruses which might be airborne. That's when medical pediatricians come into play, caring for babies, so they may grow healthy. Bearing, caring & raising a child correctly, in terms of mentally, physically & spiritually is the best investment parents can make, whose value is way beyond financial.
An employer who covers the majority or all of an employee's healthcare related costs is certainly a positive company to work for. It shows that they not only care about the well being of the person who works for them, but it also helps to build up a positive reputation about a corporation who desires to keep employees health performance at close interest. Additionally, with the rising cost of doctor bills and prescribed medicine from hospitals, it doesn't hurt to ask an employer what the healthcare options are if a person gets hurt on the job or sustains daily vitality without being hurt , without the need to see a doctor at all.
Senior citizens are always in need of care & medical attention around the clock. When the majority of politicians from anywhere around the world are seeing election, or to be re-elected, most focus on how he or she can service health related services to people. Families are most concerned about aging parents, grandparents & even those who are cancer stricken.
He was born & raised in Brooklyn, New York & has been in the working world for 10 years, including corporate America. As much as he did well on his jobs, someone somewhere he worked with or even the employer themselves found some reason wrongfully to terminate him. He has learned the hard way to become an independent person, breaking the shackles of traditionally following the working class. His mother worked for The City of New York for 35 years and successfully retired in 1994 paycheck to paycheck and thus was never able to ever save a dime nor keep money in her small bank account.

Healthcare System Considerations
By Lance Winslow
In the United States it is often said that our Health Care System is broken. In other nations they claim to have free-universal health care to protect their people. Unfortunately, when looking at all the other nation's health care systems, they indeed fall short and adequate care is often not available. Or there are long waiting lists and lots of red-tape, excuses and qualifications to get certain types of care. So, it's not always as green on the other side of the pond as one might think.
Indeed in our country, we have private health care plans, which seem to work well, as insurance coverage is available to anyone wishing to buy it. Many companies offer some health care benefits to employees, but not all. Most small businesses do not have adequate coverage for their employees. But then again what is adequate, in other countries it's all free, but folks complain it is inadequate still.
Still, with all the choices we have in the US for health insurance in the private sector, and overlays to protect those with no insurance in the public sector, it is amazing that everything is so gosh-darn complicated. You see coverages from private health care plans vary so much, it's hard to be sure you are buying the right insurance.
When it comes to the government's health care system with Medicade, Medicare and the likes, it is truly insane how complicated it all is. For senior citizens it is downright unfair, because they have no idea what is going on and it is mentally taxing just trying to understand all the rules, rules that keep changing like the political wind.

Information About Healthcare
By Gary Giardina
Healthcare is something that everyone needs but not something that everyone has access to. It's quite true that in theory everyone is able to get some type of healthcare. Theory states that everyone either has access to healthcare through their insurance plan at work, or they can purchase insurance separately. Unfortunately theory is not always a reality for most. Many are able to choose a healthcare program at work, if they work enough hours to qualify for it. Those who do not qualify cannot always afford the option of buying their own insurance because the premiums tend to be astronomical. Then there is also the issue of securing healthcare for the elderly and for dependents such as spouses and children.
It seems that something such as healthcare should be available for everyone. After all at one point or another, everyone gets sick and needs the attention of a qualified doctor. When someone who doesn't have healthcare gets sick they tend to wait it out to see if it's serious enough to justify paying a ton of money to see a doctor. The same cycle occurs when their children become sick as well. This of course leads to them missing work and allowing them to get extremely ill which takes them even longer to recover once they have gotten the correct medical attention for themselves or their children. As a direct result their lack of adequate healthcare then affects their job or jobs and the company as a whole; when their company suffers it in turn affects the economy. When the lack of healthcare available to many is viewed in these terms it is easy to see how this dilemma affects everyone as a whole and not just those who can afford healthcare.
Because of such trends as those described above, other countries have recognized the need for such healthcare and as a result have implemented programs that are specifically designed so that everyone has access to the medical attention they need. Some argue that there are many programs and organizations that offer free healthcare to those who don't qualify for it or simply can't afford it. It seems that such a service should solve the ongoing issue of lack of healthcare, but in reality it doesn't. Such services are met by such a magnitude of individuals looking for free qualified medical help that the organizations that provide such services find that they can't quite keep up with the demand. Healthcare is something that everyone has to deal with.
For those individuals who have access to healthcare, they find they have a continual fight with insurance companies to make sure that the insurance company doesn't reject their claims. Those who do not have such healthcare endure the constant struggle of having enough money to pay for medical care when it is truly needed. When the blinders are taken off, it's quite clear that healthcare is something that affects everyone. Unfortunately until some steps are taken to resolve this recurring problem those who have no choice but to go without the proper healthcare will have to continue to endure until a solution is found.

Good News & Better News about Healthcare
By David E Wilson
In the February 11, 2008, edition of the Wall Street Journal, an article was published indicating it was easier than one might think to live to be a 100 based on an editorial appearing in the Archives of Internal Medicine (also dated Monday, February 11, 2008). Research showed that individuals with chronic conditions could live to be 100 as well, but how well?
Previously, most physicians assumed that living to 100 years of age was limited to those with no chronic illness. But a study in the medical journal indicated that doctors who aggressively treated elderly individual's health problems benefited greatly.
Based on phone interviews and health assessments of more than 500 women and 200 men who had reached age 100, researchers at Boston University discovered that two-thirds of them did avoid age-related ailments, but the rest had developed age-related disease before reaching 85 including high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. Surprisingly, many of these individuals with chronic diseases functioned remarkably well.
So what seemed to be the secret? Other than receiving proper medical treatment, lifestyle seemed to make the most difference. Avoiding smoking, obesity, and inactivity greatly improves the chances of living longer and being more productive. Certainly genetics plays a role, as well as luck, but taking responsibility for one's health improves the chances of living longer than one would expect.
One Harvard University study of men in their 70s found that those avoiding smoking, obesity, inactivity, diabetes, and high blood pressure improved their chances by 54% of living into their 90s. Each one of these five risk factors reduced their chances of living longer and those with all five only had a 4% chance of living into their 90s. Notice that these risk factors are lifestyle related and usually controllable.
Many of us fear living too long with a disabling chronic condition, where again our lifestyle decisions are critically important - this is good news for health and active living. The lesson is that it is never too late to adopt a healthier lifestyle, to stop smoking, to lose weight, and to exercise - this too is good news. The best news is that we do have control over our health increasing our odds of having a full and productive life.

Stepping Into Your Beauty
By Starr Shephard
Stepping into Your Goddess Beauty From the Inside Out
One of the most powerful things we can do in life is to recognize our own amazing power in being a woman. Our beauty resonates from the inside-out giving us an inward and outward radiance that shines forth to the world. It has come a time for your goddess wisdom, purpose, and truth to shine magnificently! How powerful and empowering beauty can be in life as you awaken your true God given abilities to do all you can with all that you have been given.
Recognizing your own magic will allow for you to apply new thoughts, senses, actions, behaviors, love, gratitude, and wisdom to your daily life fulfilling your existence in ways you have only dreamed of revealing. Each one of us has a set of values from most important to least important. When you list them in order of importance from 1-7 in terms of Spiritual, Mental, Vocational, Financial, Familial, Social, and Physical, you will see where you concentrate most of your time from most to least important, to then understanding where your dedication and time are focused.
When we are seeking to discover our soul mate, once the infatuation is diluted, we see that if we flip our own value set upside down, we discover the one we are with and their set of values. Your uniqueness is most appreciated when you live as you are according to your own values. Give yourself permission to shine forth revealing the amazing woman that you are. We at times subordinate to others versus listening to our own inner voice or intuition. Intuition is your spirit within whispering to your heart your truth of loving the life you live. Allow yourself to get into the game of life and take every breath you can toward each victorious step in grasping your dreams. This is where you become congruent with your mission in life. Inner wisdom begins to project an outward glimpse of the Grand Organized Design.
I am graciously dedicated to the discovery of the magical and inspiring gifts of femininity that allow our physical being to thrive in human potential and opportunity, and also to survive in the realization that within every perceived crisis is a blessed gift. Be filled with radiant vitality and mental clarity for living your authentic self. Thank you for spending this time exploring your beautiful nature and how to access your greatest powers. Every woman is worthy of deserving her dreams. I've noticed woman need help and support to reawaken their allure of femininity, and the independent successes that they dream of....The Secret to The Beautiful You is the gift of our soul, resonating with the minds mastery and our shining beauty that illuminates our lives, as we are all stars of the universe....full of light for generations to follow. Live with bold genius, knowing that sweat and tears, failures and challenges, and our hearts greatest calling will bring forth our feminine power in success and love for impacting feminine legacies.
Meditate with a calm heart words that lift and inspire such as: "I am healthy" "I am focused" "Vision" "Inspired" "Grateful" "Love" "Energize" "I love who I am" "I am empowering" "I am beauty" "I am Grace" "I am There" "I am inspired" "I love and therefore am loved" "I do whatever it takes" "I am beautiful from the inside-out"

Face Moisturizing
Face moisturizing is another key skin care product of vital importance.
In the day you should use face moisturizing skin care products with an SPF of at least 15 preferably 25. 90% of skin aging is from exposure to UVA and UVB rays so the sooner you start the better.
I use Estee Lauder’s DayWear Plus as it lightly moisturizes and the comfortable feeling lasts all day – and it smells great which we have to admit is welcome when it comes to skincare!
The other reason that I like this skin care product is that it doesn’t sting. I have had to throw out a few other face moisturizing day creams containing SPF as they made my eyes burn, including the Lancome one. So, get testing before you buy.
At night, many models use a different face moisturizer especially after a day under harsh lights in a studio and lots of changes of makeup. Caudalie has excellent skin care products that really do improve your skin quality. Most skincare products from Estee Lauder are pretty effective whatever your age. MAC face moisturizer is a favourite on shoots as it is a great base for makeup. It is light and thin rather than fatty and deep penetrating.
I think it makes sense to go for face moisturizing products where their company specializes in skincare rather than in fashion or perfume etc such as Channel. However, I am sure there are exceptions to the rule, but to be honest I cannot think of any – can you recommend anything?

Cleansing Cream
Cleansing cream is the most important part of your skincare program.
All the best cleanser products and treatments in the world will be wasted on an unclean base.
Here are the best cleanser and cleansing cream to improve the quality of your skincare.
Cleansing Cream
I recommend Vicky Skin Care Products especially their 3 in 1 cleanser (around $11) which claims to Cleanse, Tone and Remove Eye Makeup. By gently rubbing it in it actually ‘lifts’ the makeup and debris on your face so this cleansing cream can easily be removed by using tissue, cotton wool or a hot towel. If you have been wearing heavy eye makeup then I suggest using their eye makeup remover which is non-oily and almost fragrance free. If you think you have found the best cleanser share it below!
Foaming Cleansing Cream
This is better for those that are looking for skin care products for oilier skin. I recommend Lancome’s Foaming Cleansers - the best cleanser in my opinion - they have a few different ones depending on skintype. These can really remove the day from your face. If you can get away with it then avoid using cleansing cream in the morning as if you went to bed with a clean face then you shouldn’t need to re-clean. This can protect your natural oils and also maintain your PH balances which are both essential things to consider when you are choosing your skincare. Try just using water to wake you up - the best cleanser naturelle.
The Best Exfoliating Cleanser
Exfoliating once a week can improve your skincare program enormously and you should do this in addition to using the best cleanser you can get your hands on. I really notice the difference if I run out and go for ten days without a good scrub. Rather than feeling oilier as you may expect, the skin actually goes drier, flakier and my makeup looks powdery – not a good look! On shoots, the one thing that models are often asked to do is to take an exfoliater to the bathroom and to come back to the studio with a fresh layer of skin. Don’t get carried away though and be too rough. I use Clarins for this kind of thing as the ‘bits’ are finer than in cheaper skin care products which can be to abrasive. The smaller the better so have a hunt around. I don't think Clarins have the best cleanser around though.

Daily Skin Care For Men
Encourage healthier skin by following the following tips:
Clean.
Clean your face every day and wash your face with water at least twice a day. Don't use rough soaps. A good scrub or a face wash is a good option for healthy clean skin.
Use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing and shaving since moisturizing your skin is important.
Tone.
Toning is beneficial for skin as it keeps the skin clear and firm. The alpha hydroxy acids are most useful to reduce the pore size and helps to avoid ingrown hairs.
Treat.
There are different products available in the market to treat your skin. But first and most importantly find out your skin type and its needs. Then choose products according to your skin type.
Always use an after-shave moisturizer containing no alcohol. Use peppermint for your lips as it keeps them luscious.
Protect.
Healthy skin is young looking skin.
There are preventative techniques that can promote the best skin.
-Avoid exposure to the sun to avoid tanned skin and other skin diseases.
-Exercise regularly as it promotes capillary functioning, that avoids premature aging.
-Eat right and nutritious. Keep vitamins such as C and E in your diet regimen.
-Avoid alcohol, smoking, fatigue and stress. They decrease facial circulation making you look older.

Men's skin Vs. Women's skin
A man's skin is 20% thicker than a woman's skin because of its rich collagen content. It is therefore more resistant than a woman's skin to the effects of the sun and other environmental factors such as air pollution. Hence a man's skin needs to be protected effectively and daily.
Generally men skin is oilier due to more active sebaceous glands and has larger pores. Their skin has a richer blood supply, and a tendency to sweat more than women. Also men's skin is less prone to wrinkles.
The skin aging process is the same for men and women, but for men it occurs later and is more marked.
In a man's skin, the dermis is thicker and richer in collagen, and the epidermis is often more oily. Therefore, it's more resistant than a woman's skin to the effects of the sun and other environmental factors.
After a man becomes older (about 40 to 50 years), the dermis layer of a man's skin thins; the collagen level decreases too, causing deeper wrinkles to appear.

Men's Skin Care
Men's Skin Care
By: Sara Edelman
Make-Up Artist
Healthy skin is a good looking skin and it applies for men too. Simple follow the men's skin care tips given below for healthier skin and good looking face and get-up. Follow some simple men's skin care rules mentioned below and you will always find your skin good looking, healthy and glowing.
The simplest and most important thing for your skin is to drink plenty of water. At least 8 glasses a day.
Exercise regularly. Exercise is not only good for your health but also good for your skin care.
Stop/Reduce smoking. Smoking makes your teeth yellow, give you spots, make you smell and also harm your skin (specially your lips). Smoking make your lips look dull and dark.
If your skin is oily, choose oil-free moisturisers.
Moisturise your skin daily. Also moisturise your neck. Neck moisturising will slow your aging and stop the lines showing as much.
It is best to shave after you get out of the shower, or while still in there. If possible use single blade rasors as single bladed razors are less irritating than double blade rasors.
Avoid excessive exposure to sun. If you have to, then put on your sunscreen lotion.
Avoid junk food. It is quite harmful for your skin, specially if your skin is oily and ance pron.
Don't use soap or other scented products on your face. Use some good quality face wash.

Your Skin Story
Skin is a part of the body just as the liver, heart and kidneys. When the flow of blood is hindered to the skin for any reason, the skin hardens, thickens and loses its normal appearance. As you grow older in years. the circulation of blood to the skin is lessened and it loses its youthful appearance; its color changes and wrinkles begin to form on its surface. The speed of aging starts at 25. It is slow between 30 to 35, fast between 35 to 50 and very quick between 50 to 65. But you can cheat the calendar and preserve your youth by giving your skin regular care and attention both from within and without.
Lack of proper circulation of blood to the skin is mostly due to the lack of proteins, vitamin B and vitamin C. Protein foods supply all the amino-acids essential for keeping your skin youthfu and prove helpful for skin care. If the proteins and aminoacids are inadequately supplied to the body, the tissues begin to sag causing wrinkles to appear. Like proteins, vitamins are important to the rebuilding of tissues and muscles of the face and body and prevention of wrinkles. Between the cells of the skin is a cementing substance known as collagen which depends upon vitamin C for its elasticity. Always remember that your facial muscles are living elastic tissues and that they can be nourished and built up from inside only with a good and healthy diet. Besides eating a proper beautifying diet there are many other factors which influence the youthful appearance of the face. For instance it is an established fact that the male secretion in the female body makes the skin youthful, brighter, firmer and smoother.
Therefore, many women turn beautiful immediately after marriage and during the time of pregnancy. Another cause which spoils the skin is the removal of uterus. Its removal heralds in a dry and lusterless and blemished skin. Therefore, if it is very important to your health then only have it removed and that too after consulting a number of specialists and not otherwise. Another enemy of youthful skin is menopause. At this time the body goes through severe physical and hormonal imbalance because the walls of the uterus are papering and drying up. All a result the body stops manufacturing estrogen which is very essential for keeping the skin young. The only remedy for this is to keep the skin moist and supple from outside by the regular use of home-made moisturizing creams.
Another main cause of ageing skin is over-exposure of the skin to the sun. This only dries up the skin, accelerates ageing and also darkens it. To slow down this dehydrating process women in tropical countries should drink a lot of water and fruit juices.
Other enemies of youthful skin are regular use of heavy make-up, keeping frequent late nights and consuming too much alcohol. So you see to keep a youthful face you have to take diligent care of your skin. But before you embark upon the programme of looking after your skin you should know the type of skin you have-there are many types of skin. You can broadly classify the types of skin into normal skin, combination skin, greasy skin, dry skin, sallow skin, sensitive skin chapped skin and withered skin.

Anti-Aging Solutions
Dry skin, injuries, smoke, sun, cold weathers, tanning beds, and other harmful elements in the world can cause wrinkles to develop faster than nature allows. Seems nowadays everyone has the solution for reducing wrinkles and restoring the facials youth.
Dry skin forms when inappropriate insulated areas are frequented or else dust particulars form in the air. Carpets are notorious for causing dust particulars to circulate in the air. Carpets must be clean properly to prevent dust mites, which harm the skin.
Some of the better aids for preventing wrinkles are Vitamins, which are herbals that corporate into the bottle substances that help prevent wrinkles. Vitamin A, C, and B Complex are said to be the better choice of vitamins for reducing wrinkles. However, you must continue the vitamins daily to see results. Vitamins are vital for enhancing the nails growth, hair, and skin, which naturally prevents natural wrinkles. Baby Oils is said to help dry skin. The product works wonders for reducing stretch marks caused from birth. Some foams coming available on the marketplace are great sources for making the skin look healthy, while presenting a smoothness, and shiny appeal, continuing to reduce wrinkles. Unfortunately, I cannot give out the name of one of the better foams coming available, since a surveyor I promised to uphold confidentiality to the company creating the anti-aging product. At what time the name becomes available and it can be exposed, hopefully I can inform you at this time.
One of the better solutions according to experts is seeking advice from a specialist in skin care, such as a dermatologist. This may be true, but how many of us can afford to pay for a doctor's visit to seek advise?
Few of the anti-aging products available include the Alpha HYDROX or AHA Souffl. The produce is an anti-wrinkle solution with 12% AHA, and is oil and fragrance fee. The product also includes pH4, and is said to be a natural cream that works to soften and smooth the skin, while reinstating the skins natural youth. The AHA is said to improve the skin's elasticity, texture and tone, since it nurtures the skin. The cream includes Green Tea and Peptides, which works in combination to stop breakdowns of the skin. Green Tea sparked my interest with this product, since Green Tea was found to do many good deeds for the body. Might be worth looking into: The product is also said to conserve the skins firmness: Furthermore, the product is said to reduce sings of wrinkles and lines, according to the distributors on the initial usage. This is where I stand reluctant. I've never seen a product work on the first usage.
Instant Face Lift is supposed to lift the brows and lines around the brow, eliminate crowfeet, reduce double chin, and the Face Lift Strips are suppose to last up to 12 hours. The spray on is invisible, easy to use and helps to reduce sagging lids, reduce age and so on. Any product that claims to reduce the age is something I would consider carefully before spending my money.
DERMAFREEZE in ten minutes according to the distributors claim that the solution smoothes, reduce wrinkles, and helps prevent sagging of skin, around the face and neck. In ten minutes? Get real!
I'm not saying the solution does not work, but in ten minutes, I find it difficult to believe that the solution will prevent sags, reduce wrinkles, and smooth the skin restoring the facial and chest areas youth.
Some of the better products I've seen are the buffing, cream and other tools that help to enhance the face skin. The product I've seen made the persons face radiant, smooth, and the wrinkles were minimized. Darn it! I can't think of the name of the product right now, but the kit come complete with a buffer, which used batteries, cream and gloves. The cream goes on the buffer and once turned on you buff the face area and in turn, you have one of the shiniest faces I've ever seen. Think buffer when searching for anti-aging products.

How to Care for Your Skin if You Have Rosacea
Rosacea is a benign skin condition that occurs when the skin becomes flushed and sensitive. Many people with rosacea report red, pimple-like bumps as well as broken capillaries (small blood vessels). The skin is usually extremely sensitive. Dry eyes may be reported as well.
Rosacea is a common disorder among people with light or fair skin. It usually does not progress to other parts of the body, nor is it dangerous, but many people are extremely self-conscious about the facial discoloration that typifies rosacea. If you have rosacea, there are some skin care techniques that may help you treat and conceal the condition.
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #1: Use Plenty of Sunscreen
People with fair skin tend to be sensitive to the sun anyway, and people with Rosacea are doubly so. Therefore, use a high SPF sunscreen whenever you are planning to spend any time outside. This includes winter activities (e.g., skiing, ice skating) as well as summer activities (e.g., hiking, swimming, gardening, etc.).
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #2: Avoid Perfumed Products
Perfumed products may irritate your skin and cause further redness, so it's better to avoid them. Seek out products that are water-based and free of abrasive materials. If any product you use is causing increased wetness, stinging, or burning, discontinue use of it.
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #3: Avoid Hot Water
Wash your face with water that is cool or room temperature. Don't scrub at the affected areas, as this will only cause further inflammation. Pat your face dry with a soft towel, or better yet, let it air dry. Don't use rough towels, loofah sponges, etc.
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #4: Don't Get Overheated
Cool temperatures are best for Rosacea sufferers. It's also important to stay well-hydrated, as this promotes the general health of the skin.
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #5: Use Green or Yellow Tinted Camouflage Makeup
It sounds like an outrageous idea, but the green or yellow coloring will actually help conceal the red patches of skin. Larenim Mineral Makeup offers people with rosacea an all-natural soft green concealer called Hocus-Pocus. Bobbi Brown also offers an excellent line of yellow-based foundations.
Rosacea Skin Care Tip #6: Consult a Dermatologist
Rosacea can't be cured, but there are several techniques a dermatologist can use to control it including topical medications, oral medications, laser therapy, etc. Rather than a "standard" treatment, therapies are based on each patient's unique condition, needs, and circumstances. If you are troubled by rosacea, see a dermatologist as soon as possible and start getting some relief.

Different Types of Rosacea Treatments
Psoriasis is a skin disorder which is a chronic and recurring condition that varies in severity from minor localized patches to completely covering the body. Psoriasis is a disease which commonly affects the skin and joints and causes red scaly patches to appear. These scaly patches, called psoriatic plaques, are areas of inflammation and excessive skin production and commonly take on a silvery white appearance. Psoriatic skin plaques frequently occur on the skin of the knees and elbows, but may affect any area including the scalp. Psoriasis is believed to be non-contagious and is immune-mediated. Psoriasis is a lifelong condition and there is currently no cure however there are various treatment options which can help to control the symptoms.
There is currently no cure for psoriasis and the existing treatments available are aimed at controlling the symptoms of the disease rather than curing it. Treatment options available for psoriasis range from topical therapies to phototherapy and systemic therapy for the more severe cases of the disease. All of these treatment options are considered by psoriasis patients to have several drawbacks in terms of convenience, safety, or effectiveness. The advent of new biological therapies may potentially offer patients suffering from psoriasis hope of long term treatment which is safer than the current available options.
Topical therapies have remained the mainstay of treatment for many patients suffering with mild psoriasis. Topical treatments work relatively quickly at clearing lesions and are typically well tolerated by the majority of psoriasis sufferers. However, topical treatments must be used repeatedly to remain effective and are often not able to maintain remission of an outbreak. Dithranol is a topical therapy which has been used often to treat psoriasis. It can be effective for mild to moderate psoriasis and is often used with ultraviolet treatments for patients with more severe psoriasis. There are some key issues which limit the use of Dithranol as it can cause irritation and burning to the skin and tends to stain anything it comes in contact with.
Topical corticosteroids are the most commonly prescribed treatments for psoriasis. They are synthetic drugs which resemble naturally occurring hormones in the body and are available in varying strengths and formulations including lotions, creams, solutions, sprays, gels, and ointments. Corticosteroids act by slowing down the growth of skin cells and decreasing the inflammation of lesions in patients with psoriasis. While corticosteroids may quickly clear lesions, they do not produce long term remissions so the lesions associated with psoriasis may recur after a short term. Side effects are numerous and may include stretch marks or scars on the skin.
Oral retinoids are also linked as treatments for psoriasis. Related to vitamin A, oral retinoids affect how cells regulate their behavior, including how quickly they grown and shed from the skin's surface. They are only moderately effective as monotherapy and are also associated with numerous side effects including hair loss and thinning of fingernails. Retinoids have also been associated with birth defects so they are not prescribed to women who could potentially become pregnant. Retinoids treatment must be stopped up to three years before a woman can become pregnant.

Instead of buying an exfoliator to smooth skin, you can make your own and include an essential oil to break down cellulite at the same time. Or instead of using an all-over body lotion, you can create one moisturizer with an essential oil to treat your oily back and another to soothe the dry skin on the rest of your body.

French Lavender is the epitome of organic hygiene from EO Essential Oil natural soaps and body care.
Australian Bodycare's skincare range is based on the totally natural and unique skin-friendly essential oil, Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia). You can get a body wrap, which is said to eliminate toxins from your body and subsequently get a massage with some essential oils to be massaged into the skin to relieve stress. They also have an Earth Stone Therapy in your regime pampering. They use palm-sized heated stones, which are covered in the essential oils of the body, which are rubbed on your skin. The heat of the rock along with the oil penetrate deep into muscles for a better relaxation of the muscles without the full deep tissue massage you would otherwise. Many spas now offer treatments that help with the aging process.

Skin Care Treatment for Thyroid Conditions
That skin often seems the outer reflection of the inner being may explain, at least in part, why problem skin is so distressing and why Americans spend billions of dollars a year on skin care treatments and cosmetics. As women approach middle age, they often find that their skin gets thinner and tends to lose moisture creating fine lines and wrinkles.
So many of us just shrug these signs off as normal, but they could in fact be indicators of a thyroid malfunction. While some thyroid problems can be permanent, many can be controlled and treatment can also sometimes reverse the symptoms – getting rid of the excess weight, filling out the hair, and restoring moisture and beauty to the skin. In fact, even for those with the most difficult to treat conditions, proper skin care treatment can bring vast relief.
The thyroid is a small gland at the base of the throat, just below the larynx. It produces the thyroid hormone, known as T4. The T4 circulates through the body to the liver, where it is converted into T3, and Reverse T3 (RT3). T3 is the active hormone, and circulates to every cell in the body helping to regulate metabolism. This process has an effect on every organ in the body.
Malfunction of this process can result in hypothyroidism, insufficient production of T4, or hyperthyroidism, excessive production of T4. Both conditions are usually diagnosed with blood tests that measure T4 levels.
Statistics suggest that 20 percent of the adult population could have an under active thyroid and as a result suffer from skin conditions such as
• Pale, cold, scaly, wrinkled skin
• Dry, itchy skin
• Skin colour - ivory - yellow
• Brittle thick nails
The extremely dry, itchy, and often inflamed skin can cause discomfort and even infections and can be very difficult to treat. Dry skin that's not cared for can lead to eczema, folliculitis or even cellulitis, a potentially serious bacterial infection of the skin's underlying tissues.
Fortunately, recent research has led to the development of a shielding lotion that when included in your skin care routine can effectively relieve these symptoms.

Face Pack For Oily Skin
Mix 2 teaspoon of Fullers earth with 2 teaspoon of chilled rose water to a thick paste. Apply on the face with a brush, avoiding the delicate areas around the eyes. Leave it on for about 20 minutes or till completely dry. Rinse with warm water. The results is a pinkish youthful skin.
For oily skin, use cabbage , cucumber, lemon, pear, strawberry or tomato.
Ingredients:
· ½ grapefruit
· ½ lemon juice
· ½ cored apple
· 1-2 egg whites
· 30 to 40 seedless grapes
Take the ingredients together in a blender and mix. Apply evenly on face and neck and leave for twenty minutes. Thoroughly rinse off with lukewarm water.
Neem Pack Take a spoonful of neem powder, milk, rose petal powder, yoghurt and apply over face and neck. Wash or clean skin with cold water or rose water after 15 to 20 minutes and pat dry. Neem possesses excellent medicinal properties and is most ideal for skin blemishes, acne and other skin problems.
Take egg white and apply to your face, after it dries wash your face with basin flour. This face pack is good for oily skin only ( note:- do not apply this face pack around your eyes).
Peel apple skin and grate and squeeze juice from apple and add same quantity of lime juice and apply to your face. This is good for oily skin.
Summer fruit cocktail. Blend a cube each of fresh ripe papaya, pineapple, cucumber and strawberry with a little egg white* (optional) or besan (chickpea flour). The fruits contain alpha hydroxy acids and enzymes that help peel off dull, dead skin and reveal a clearer complexion.
Mash six strawberries with a teaspoon of Brandy, two spoons of breadcrumbs, two spoons of fuller's earth and a few drops of rose water. Mix well and apply a thick layer on the face and neck and leave on for 20 minutes. Since strawberries have Vitamin C and a certain acidic properties they leave the skin sparkling clean. Breadcrumbs help to exfoliate dead skin while fuller's earth will tighten the pores and brandy would help to add some glow.
Potato face pack:
Ingredients:
· One teaspoon of potato juice.
· One teaspoon of multani mitti.
Blend both the ingredients together and apply on the face. Leave it until it dries. Then wash with lukewarm water. Finally, rinse with cold water
Take 1 tablespoon of fullers earth or multani mitti and 1 teaspoon rose water Soak the mud for a while with very little water. When it is moist and pliable add rose water and mix. Apply on the face for 15-20 minutes. Let it dry and gently wash.
Fuller's Earth mask
Take two teaspoons of Fuller's Earth (multani mitti) and add four to five spoons of rose water to make a paste. This is commonly known as a 'mud pack', and is used to cleanse and tone the skin while soaking up excess oil from the face. You can also add a vitamin E capsule (gel) to the pack if desired.
Other
When taking care of oily skin type, special attention should be paid to cleansing to prevent or minimize most of oily skin related problems. However do not over-cleanse or use too harsh products - this may strip your skin of oil and encourage oil glands to work overtime to make up for it.
Do not use bar soaps and hot water in attempt to dissolve and get rid of all of the oil on the skin surface and in the pores. This may result in dehydration of the skin and irritation. Use a mild cleanser with no addition of oil, waxes or any other lipid agent that can worsen the oily condition of the skin. Another good idea for oily skin is to use a cleanser with salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid that reduces sebum (skin oil) production and will help you to combat break outs. Also it can be beneficial if your cleanser has antibacterial properties/ingredients. Oily skin prone to break outs will also benefit from a toner with antiseptic.
Moisturizing:
To counteract any dryness or dehydration that might result from deep cleansing of the oily skin use a light oil-free moisturizer. You may also try an anti-imperfection moisturizer but use it only if it is not too drying for your skin. Avoid any ingredients that can clog pores and aggravate acne such as cocoa butter, olive oil, corn oil, acetylated lanolin, butyl sterate and any other comedogenic ingredients (ingredients that tend to clog pores and cause acne).
If your moisturizer does not come with sun protection, use a sunscreen, preferably gel type, that has minimum SPF of 15.
Diet:
The main recommendation for a diet would be to keep to a low-fat diet. Avoid oily foods: pork or foods cooked with too much oil. Also avoid highly seasoned foods. Read more here.

Identify Your Skin Type
Why do you get break outs after applying a moisturizer?
Why do fine lines keep appearing and becoming more visible even though you are in your mid-twenties and religiously using a moisturizer with SPF protection?
Why does your skin start flaking in winter?
The answer is - you must be using the wrong skin-care products for your skin type.
Identify your skin type and adjust your skin care accordingly.
This will be the first thing a beauty specialist will do when you come to a salon for a treatment: identify the type of skin you have and the skin condition.
The skin care products and treatments you will need will depend on your skin type, skin condition and age.
1. Normal skin – balanced skin not too oily and not too dry. Is usually smooth and naturally well moisturized. The pores are fine and not very visible.
2. Dry - skin is the result of low activity of skin oil glands, it is prone to flaking and fine lines, looks dull, and is sensitive.
3. Oily skin– the skin surface is oily/shiny due to high secretion of sebum, has large clogged pores. Prone to spots, pimples, black heads etc. However oily skin remains younger looking for longer time as compared to all the other skin types.
4. Combination skin – mostly it is combination of oily skin in T-zone area (forehead, nose and chin) and normal or dry around the cheeks, eyes, mouth
Some cosmetologists single out “Sensitive skin” as the 5th skin type. However it is more of a skin condition than skin type. All the types of skin can become sensitive and characterized by delicacy and sensitivity (hyper-reaction such as breakouts, redness, itchiness, flaking) to the changes in environment, cosmetics containing intensive ingredients or alcohol, synthetics etc.
In addition to these skin types, there are many in-between/transitional skin types. For example dry to normal, normal to oily etc. Your skin type can sometimes change from season to season. For example if you have a normal type of the skin in winter you may experience some flaking as your skin gets dryer and in the hot summer weather you may notice some shininess and more frequent break-outs. Also depending on your age and state of health your skin type might undergo some changes that will require changes in your skin care routine and products.
Note that your body skin type can be different from your facial skin.
